I have a crazy friend. She always tells me the tales of her snoring husband. Her claims go like this, “Sometimes we value when a husband has a tummy, a big one. It seems a show of health and wealth. However for us partners who sleep daily with them, it is torture every day! I most at times can’t stand sleeping with my husband, he snores like an old truck.” Most obese people snore loudly because of increase in neck circumference and deposit or fats on the tissues surrounding the breathing cavity. The snoring is most at times accompanied by obstructive sleep apnea. The two sleeping disorders are associated with insomnia in the partners because a heavy snorer most at times wakes up the other person. “I used to sleep in a different bedroom, because I could not stand the loud snoring sounds. This happens to most partner’s whose spouses snore. I always see it as a major discussion in women chat groups on facebook, twitter and others” She added. Snoring definitions show that it is a major sleeping disorder affecting around 90 million Americans with 37 million being regular snorers. With such huge numbers and with most of Americans now becoming overweight, the problem is bound to increase. Being overweight is a major cause of not only sleeping disorders but also other health conditions. It is associated with diabetes, heart problems, stroke and other disorders. These conditions are exacerbated by having insomnia or lack of sleep on a regular basis. It should be noted that sleeping well every day is one of the ways that help people to lose weight easily when combined with regular exercise and diet management.
